Isle of the Drones

This is just me being a bit pretentious. I've always wanted to create my own version of the Arnold Böcklin painting, "Isle of the Dead". Admittedly because I'm a huge fan of H. R. Giger (surprise surprise) and his homage to the original 1880 painting is one of my favourite works of art ever. For this image I did however go all the way back to the original, in an attempt to move at least slightly away from Giger's work.

Years ago I'd occasionally recreate classic paintings in my own hand drawn style, but this is the first time I've consciously invoked one as a digitally rendered image.

So I guess this is a Dollmistress homage to the original, a.k.a. an "Enthasan Isle of the Dead"

I'll probably post a few variations of the image when I get time to mess around with post work on the base render.
